In the 19th Century, Frederik York Wolseley founded a company to mechanize sheep shearing. Herbert Austin, whose name will later adorn the Mini, is the chief engineer. The first Wolseley cars were produced in 1895. During World War 1, Wolseley builds very successful trucks and armaments. For a small car, therefore, a new company called Stellite-Cars has been launched. Their most successful model: the Wolseley Stellite 10 HP with an output of about 10 horse power.
